Andy Lau launched his “My Love” world tour at the iconic Hong Kong Coliseum on December 15th 2018. The show is a tour de force of the best that Cantopop has to offer. Andy’s stage craft is as legendary as his productions are epic and Stufish is proud to be part of the creative team in his latest production.
Andy takes his audience through a beautiful and emotional journey that reconnects him with his adoring audience after eight long years of not having concerts in Hong Kong. An LED covered circular stage placed in the middle of the arena floor dominates the stage composition. Two long catwalks extend out and connect the circular stage to the two B-stages in the corner of the arena floor giving Andy Lau the opportunity to get up close and personal to his fans.
Embedded within the stage are 59 lifts that, during the course of the show, reveal the full potential of this unique design. Individual segments of the stage floor can be raised to an impressive height of 8m which the artist takes full advantage of.
A mesmerising and colourful sequence of choreography, costumes and musical styles ensues for Andy to weave in and out of an ever evolving show narrative. One moment he travels across the arena high above the audience on a gondola and delivers the most heart-felt ballads, while at the next moment he descends into a savage post-apocalyptical world of raw energy, thumping choreography and stunning costumes.
Throughout the performance he is supported by a stage design that can transform from a flat surface into a topography of different levels. The fluid motion of the lifts going up and down coupled with the ever changing video content creates interesting patterns and delivers the energy and tension of an upbeat performance.
The stage becomes a character brought alive and commanded by Andy for a unique and bespoke spectacle his fans have come to expect from him.
